The Cycle Jazz Club is a space in Oxford that is dedicated to bringing sublime Jazz music to your ears and is mostly given to those who cycle. Hence the name. Don't feel a stranger though, we actually prefer our listeners have their breath taken away by the music.
We run a cycle club that rides out from Oxford station to Elsfield for our out of town friends or homegrown jazzers in Oxford. It's 8.6 kilometres but we ride with plenty of time and we only go as fast as our slowest jazzer.
Bike lights included if needed
Once the bikes are racked, we gather for live jazz in some of Oxford's warmest rooms — standards, improvisation, and the odd surprise from members who play.
This is an open Jazz competition that asks applicants to apply to win a paid gig with other applicants, exposure through Cycle Jazz club socials and an interview. If you win, you will be put into a whatsapp group with other winners and given the opportunity to rehearse free of charge in the club, before you're big night.
New riders and listeners are always welcome. Drop us a line and we'll tell you where the next ride sets off — and where the music's playing.
